The Head of Safety & Quality role is required to investigate all ANS related incidents at Sharjah Airport and to implement measures to avoid incidents and accidents at Sharjah. In addition, ensure that a robust Safety Management System is maintained in Sharjah ANS. The overriding goal of the Head of Safety & Quality is to engender a culture of safety at Sharjah ANS and to encourage a Safety Culture and a Just Culture approach to safety incidents. The Head of Safety & Quality is responsible for the development and implementation of the Quality Assurance Program for Sharjah ANS. They will work as part of a Quality / Safety Assurance team to support incident investigations, quality and safety oversight as well as operational oversight of operational standards. Responsible for the management of Quality Operations, Quality Technical, Quality Airworthiness and Quality Audit sections and jointly responsible for the establishment, development and management of the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) in response to UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and Sharjah DCA SMS requirements. If the position holder is current (validated) it is required to maintain currency and act as the Controller in Charge (CIC), the position holder will comply with accountability assigned to Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs) and (CIC) guidelines. The Head of Safety & Quality acts as the SMS Post holder and QMS Post holder as per CARs VIII Subpart 4, Paragraph 4.7 Structure and reporting relationship The Head of Safety & Quality shall be managed and overseen by the Sharjah ANS Contract/Air Traffic Services Manager which report to the Accountable Manager (Sharjah DCA Chairman) through the Director of Operations. The Head of Safety & Quality shall co-ordinate/liaise with the GCAA on matters of regulation subject Sharjah DCA acceptance. If required, the Post Holder for Safety and Quality will have direct access to the Accountable Manager. See Org. Chart Duties and Responsibilities To act as the designated ANS Safety Manager for the purposes on National Civil Aviation Regulations; To ensure compliance with and maintain the Unit Quality Management System (QMS); To advise Sharjah DCA and the Manager Air Traffic Services on all safety related issues; To manage the investigation of ATC related incidents and accidents occurring at Sharjah; To build and maintain a strong Safety Culture amongst Management and staff at Sharjah; To build and maintain a strong Just Culture amongst Management and staff at Sharjah; To build and maintain a non-punitive reporting culture amongst Management and staff at Sharjah; Be ready to commence work at the rostered start time; Always behave in a manner which is polite and professional; Always maintaining a high standard of personal presentation; To manage all Safety Management System functions in Sharjah ANS, such as the completion of Risk Assessments prior to implementation of new procedures and systems, and the reporting of identified hazards and their rectification and closure; To drive the maintenance and development of the Aviation Safety Management Systems and to advise Sharjah DCA on this matter; To review the overall performance of Sharjah, specifically by monitoring the performance of Sharjah in relation to its identified target levels of safety; To communicate with the Sharjah DCA as required in relation to incidents which have occurred at Sharjah; To manage Occupational Health and Safety and Quality Management; To perform other safety related tasks as instructed by ANS senior management; To represent Sharjah ANS on the Serco ME Aviation Safety Assurance Group (ASAG); To represent Sharjah ANS on the GCAA ATC Technical Committee; To act as the Safety Contact for all Sharjah Operational ANS staff and advise all Operational ANS staff on the ASMS and their roles and responsibilities and interaction with the ASMS; To manage the representation of Sharjah ANS Safety Function and any external safety initiatives such as Runway Safety Team; Development and implementation of the Safety and Quality Program for Sharjah ANS and implementation of a Compliance Programme aligned to Sharjah operational needs; Work within a team of safety & standards officers ensuring alignment in delivery of the Programme; Deliver and promote the values of Serco and ensure that all staff achieve and maintain all Safety & Standards in line with appropriate regulations; Assist to develop Safety & Standards strategy and manage the Quality Assurance Programme; Implement a Quality Assurance Programme and deliver and embed this work within the Sharjah ATS department; Develop learning and relationships with stakeholders in other aviation organisations to share best practice; Demonstrate the Serco values – Care, Trust, Innovation and Pride ensuring excellence in service and people development; Plan, schedule and implement the internal QA audit program; Follow up on audit observations / non-conformities with relevant managers to ensure close out of findings within agreed timescales; Assist other members of the team with Assurance related projects, safety related initiatives and developments associated with operational oversight. Ensure the effective establishment & implementation of the Serco quality system and all associated systems & resources structure; Establish and maintain effective auditing and surveillance systems for Serco quality & safety departments to ensure compliance with the GCAA and other regulatory requirements, ensuring there is a structured process of corrective action and follow up to ensure the continuous improvement of the business; Develop and implement an effective safety & quality reporting system to the CATSM and senior managers as requested; Establish, maintain and promote safety & quality awareness across Serco and Sharjah Airport operational and non-operational areas; Timely report to the CATSM and senior Management any significant Safety and Quality events and adverse trends that lower the Safety of Sharjah Operations; Endorse all Serco and Sharjah DCA required quality manual(s), prior to submission to the GCAA for approval; Responsible in the development, training and guidance of the Quality Supervisor and/or Quality Officers on a continuous basis; Audit the ANS licensing/authorisation process; Responsible in reviewing and approving reports related to the competency certificate inspections, Audits, Investigations and Authorizations; Responsible for internal and external communication, compiling and issuing Quality Notices; Responsible for preparing bi-annual reports, ensuring the accuracy of data to allow the Accountable Manager and nominated Post Holders to plan corrective actions based on identified systemic errors in the report. Safety accountabilities include: Provide Safety Assurance to higher levels of management on the efficient and safe completion of operational activities; Advise and ensure that Managerial and Operational staff receives safety related training appropriate to their job function and safety related tasks; Ensure all safety related issues are dealt with in a timely manner and the required corrective/preventive actions are taken to reduce safety risk to acceptable levels; Ensure that safety related issues are reported and recorded; Promulgate a safety culture amongst employees and encouraging safety reporting to ensure the required corrective actions are taken on non-conformities raised against their departments; Report on all safety related issues monthly; this report shall include performance on KPIs. Challenges of the Role It is imperative that the Head of Safety & Quality always meet the highest levels of integrity and accuracy in their work; Given the sensitive nature of the information being witnessed and recorded, confidentiality in this role is of the utmost importance; Due to the serious nature of some of the actions which may have to be taken from the Manager Air Traffic Services, recommendations following investigations, the Head of Safety & Quality will have to have the courage of their convictions to stand by their decisions in the face of possible pressure from colleagues; Being a multicultural and diverse workplace, sensitivity in dealing with people from different back grounds and cultural standpoints is required in this role. Safety Critical Competencies Comprehensive knowledge of UAE GCAA CAR’s, ICAO and Serco Middle East ASAG Standards and Recommended Practices pertaining to the operations and delivery of ATS and Safety Management; Knowledge ADC License rating and Certificate of Competence (CoC) (Optional but recommended); Expert Knowledge on Aviation Safety & Quality Management and Investigation. To advise the Contract & Air Traffic Service Manager on all issues pertaining to Air Traffic Service (ATS). The Head of Operations acts as the Head of Discipline (ATC) as per CARs Part VIII, Paragraph 4.7 Reason for role Ensure that the unit deliver operationally in accordance to contractual obligations. Oversee compliance to regulatory requirements, in specific safety and training. Daily managing of operations for Air Traffic Controllers and Assistants. Structure and reporting relationship Reports to the Contract & Air Traffic Service Manager Duties and Responsibilities Achievement of these objectives will require effective and efficient utilisation of the skilled workforce, rigorous oversight of standards and practices, timely and appropriate responses to, and anticipation of the customer’s requirements. The nature of the work requires the post holder to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the customer and/or customer representative; with external agencies, specifically regulatory bodies such as the GCAA; and with other relevant stakeholders, including the Airport engineering department. The Sales Executive is responsible for assisting in driving the overall client experience and sales within the store. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, provides product knowledge to customers and works as part of a team to meet individual and store targets. As part of this job you will: • Provide outstanding customer service to each customer by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting, welcoming and acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service. • Acknowledge, interact and engage with clients, creates client loyalty and has the ability to multi-task while servicing internal and external clients • Portray a gracious, friendly, energetic and engaging manner and is at all times respectful and professional at all times. • Demonstrate highest level of accountability & responsibility, positive attitude and professional appearance and hygiene level at all time. • Constantly maintain proper dress code including name tag, uniform and associated tablet. • Perform work accurately & thoroughly. Demonstrate superior product knowledge; accurately describe the features & benefits of all products using the appropriate tools. Excellent understanding of product value and the differences in product range. • Assist customers in selecting products and provide alternative solutions and advise accordingly. • Shows patience & courtesy at all times especially to indecisive or hard-to-please customers. • Takes ownership, solicits and incorporates feedback for professional growth and development – Consistently receives positive, unsolicited client feedback. • Communicate effectively with store management, store team, and external clients in person, through written correspondence and over the phone. • Complete opening/closing procedures and tasks as directly by Leadership Team with a client focus (e.g. replenishing merchandise; recovering the store and styling rooms; processing shipment including but not limited to: unpacking, hanging, steaming; cleaning including but not limited to: dusting, vacuuming, and removing trash; executing merchandising moves; marketing updates; and completing prices changes.) • Perform register transactions quickly and efficiently (e.g., sales, send sales, returns, exchanges, payments) • Availability to work a flexible schedule and the hours necessary to open and/or close the store, including nights, weekends, internal and/or external events and holidays. • Must be comfortable working independently, including working in a single coverage environment • Achieve high levels of sales performance and results. • Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock. • Assists in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping of sales floor and stock room. Takes pride in the appearance of store & shows initiative to keep displays & inventory clean, attractive & organized. • Operate current company POS systems. • Accurately operates tablets and POS terminals and collect proper payments and retains proper change and paper work for all transactions. • Any other tasks as assigned by any member of management. • Adhere to all company policies & procedures and the lease partner. • Adhere to attendance and daily time keeping requirements. • Ability to be on your feet most of the day/mobile or moving on the sales floor or stock room including walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, pushing, lifting, pulling and carrying merchandise. • Support other team members to create a one team spirit behavior and values to help improve each and every day. Basic Requirements, Qualification and Experience required: • Full time Female sales with previous retail experience required, fashion apparel experience preferred. • High School diploma or equivalent required • Excellent customer service, time management and organizational skills. • Effective selling skills and techniques. • Experience in point of sale system, computers & calculators. • Experience dealing with the public • Ability to read, write, count and communicate with store staff and customer. • Embrace new technology & change. • Self-motivated, independent leader. • Valid UAE residency visa. • Readily available to start immediately.
