    Roles and Responsibilities plan and coordinate a project from start to finish, including organizing the schedule of work, costings, and budget manage the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress check design documents with engineering promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed write regular reports maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project, ie stakeholder management communicate with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and others involved in the project understand and resolve any unexpected problems that may occur during the project company site Construction Manager reports to the company Sr Project Manager This position Oversees the logistical requirements of a project, delegating work to colleagues within his team, meeting regularly with clients, third parties and other managers to report on progress, setting targets, objectives and responsibilities for all supervisory staff, regularly reviewing timings, budget, labour, risk and project plans to ensure work stays on track, conducting site visits to inspect work, check materials and ensure staff are following health and safety guidelines, dealing with sub-contractors and mitigating the impact of any issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales Working in an office and on a construction site Responsible for monitoring all EPCC construction work Responsible to ensure all the material inspections are carried out as per the required procedures and ITP To ensure that the construction is in line with the project requirements and project quality plan Coordinate with all parties on site on construction management matters This will include liaison with Client and three (3) Major EPC Contractors from various countries around the world • Manage all technical queries and ensure these are closed-out • Liaise with the PMC home office team on any site identified issues and resolving it • Monitor all construction against the Project Construction Schedule • Ensure that all construction correspondence is via the proper site management channels • Directly responsible for the execution of project construction • Manages construction activities following project plans, specifications, and project schedules • Keeps relevant project managers and others informed of project status, issues, and incidents for the project • Plan and coordinate for availability of equipment, tools and materials required to execute self-perform scopes of work • Performs planning and estimating as required to support construction estimates, schedules, and procurements This may include schedule development, design reviews, constructability reviews, development of material take-offs and bills of materials based on engineering design drawings and project specifications, and development of cost and labor estimates • Responsible for change control during the construction phase of projects and for managing budgets tied to construction activities • Identifies required design and specification changes prior to construction, and utilizes the request for information process, documented changes through engineering review • Participates in project meetings/teleconferences to monitor progress, implement procedures, ensure compliance with specifications and standards, and ensure safety procedures are being followed • Reports project progress in relation to project schedules, and updates schedules at required intervals • Interacts with client construction team, client HSe team, client QC team, In house construction team and other agency officials in a professional and tactful manner, on an as needed basis • Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing, with subordinates as needed to relay information they need to be successful in their jobs This includes, but is not limited to, staff meetings, job requirements, projects, quality standard procedures, and safety practices • Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe workplace program and ensuring that safety and quality is the highest priority on the job site • Performs other duties as required Desired Candidate Profile BE / BTech Mechanical, with 15-18 years relevant experience in site construction, preferably in Oil & Gas sector Applicants experienced in Tank Construction will have advantage Knowledge, Skills and Competencies (Required to perform the role) strong communication skills - for liaising with a range of clients, professionals and workers on site Strong personality with leadership skills and ability to motivate site team to ensure a high standard of work excellent planning and organizational skills - for writing and monitoring project plans and schedules and utilizing time and resources effectively resilience and problem-solving skills - in order to overcome unexpected challenges during the construction process an ability to make decisions under pressure, so that the project can progress strong attention to detail for conducting site inspections and managing complex contracts an awareness of health and safety procedures and legislation - for running a safe construction site sound commercial awareness - to allocate and manage your budget effectively and to understand client concerns numerical and IT skills, including knowledge of relevant construction methods and project management software to manage information during the project In the Oil and Gas industry As Construction Manager in any major Oil or Gas Projects In construction storage tanks Projects Specific in Internal floating roof tanks, External floating roof tanks, High dia Dome roof tanks and cone roof tanks Knowledge required in the project matters associated with EPC of tank jobs, Piping packages, Equipments installation, and alignments Have good experience in Rotary equipment installation and commissioning Understanding of the engineering disciplines involved including civil, civil tanks, mechanical, mechanical tanks, structures, piping, instruments, electrical, etc Has knowledge of American, European, and British codes on tanks and piping Understands the Control of OSHA regulations Has an awareness of project QA / QC Manual and HSSE requirements Has dealt with time pressures and concentration levels to meet project requirements and deadlines Good knowledge on API 650 and process piping codes Has prepared weekly and monthly status reports Will have a good knowledge of site engineering requirements associated with construction through to mechanical completion Handled comprehensive Site Dossiers, Manufacturers Record Books, Site Record Books and Project Record Books • Interfacing with international major EPC Contractors Middle east experience Holder of an active Driving License from any of the GCC countries Defense Driving license Experience in Oil & Gas projects, storage tank internal floating and external floating roofs, Dome roof of higher dia tanks & mechanical construction of rotary equipment and static equipment installation and alignment Construction Materials Manager , Engineering & Construction , Construction & Site Engineering , Full Time, Permanent Construction Engineering Education BTech/BE in Mechanical Key Skills Construction Manager floating roofs checking materials subcontractors EPCC Oil Construction Management Project Management stakeholder management mechanical construction Site work Gas Dome roof EPC Site inspection Skills highlighted with ‘ ‘ are preferred keyskills
